Sweden Looking to Model Canada’s Immigration System

Sweden’s Minister of Employment is visiting Canada to learn about Canada’s immigration system and understand how newcomers are integrated in Canadian society. Immigrant integration is a major issue for Sweden, which accepted 31,220 asylum seekers last year alone. Sweden is looking to learn from Canada, where Canadian universities, municipalities, and employers actively work to integrate newcomers into society and the labor market.
