To apply for permission to enter the UK under this visa category the following conditions apply:
- Score at least 75 points for attributes as specified in Appendix A of the Immigration Rules.
- Originate from outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
- Fulfill the minimum investment requirements.
Minimum Investment Requirements:
| Apply for indefinitely leave to remain after 5 years and 4 months | Invest £2 million in UK government bonds, share capital or loan capital in active and trading UK registered companies |
| Apply for indefinitely leave to remain after 3 years | Invest £5 million in UK government bonds, share capital or loan capital in active and trading UK registered companies |
| Apply for indefinitely leave to remain after 2 years | Invest £10 million in UK government bonds, share capital or loan capital in active and trading UK registered companies |
Funds should be freely transferable to the UK and must be convertible into pounds sterling. Applicant must ensure that any relevant legal controls over the transfer of currency, does not the transfer of funds to the UK.
The applicant may rely on funds owned individually or jointly with a spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same sex partner if the applicant has an unrestricted right to transfer and dispose of the funds and has permission to control the funds in the UK.
