Latvia Sees Slowing Demand for Property from Russian Buyers

Latvia’s decision to increase the minimum investment required for residency to €250,000 has caused a slowdown in Russian investment. Till last year Latvia was very popular with Russian investors, with more than 10,000 Russians obtaining Latvian residency under the program. Tensions over the conflict in Ukraine combined with the falling rouble have also contributed to the sharp drop in Russian overseas investment.
