Investigations Launched Following Reports of Fraud in US EB-5 Visa Program

Federal agents in the US have launched numerous investigations following several allegations of fraud being leveled at EB-5 immigration program. A Government Accountability Office (GAO) report into the EB-5 program highlighted the lack of rigorous oversight by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, specifically how the agency fails to analyze risks, assess fraud and accurately measure economic benefits. The report also claims the agency was unable to determine if investor funds were lawfully obtained.
