Australia to Increase Citizenship Fees Next Year

Australia is set to raise the cost of becoming an Australian citizen next year with proposals for an increase in fees currently being considered. Fees are currently charged on the basis of citizenship application type, with the cost varying depending on an applicant’s eligibility and the service requested. Under the proposals the current citizenship fee of $260 would increase to $325, while the cost for those resuming citizenship would double from $70 to $140.
