Inclusion of Dependents

The applicant can include the following in the application:

  1. Spouse.
  2. Unmarried dependent children below the age of 18 years.

The applicant must prove capability to support self and dependents without relying on returns of investments, employment in Hong Kong, or public assistance.

Entry Into Hong Kong

Upon approval in principle, the applicant is entitled to enter Hong Kong with visitor status for a period of three months. The stay can be extended for another three months if proof of active progress of the investment is shown.
Upon proving that the prescribed investments have been made, the applicant will receive permission to stay in Hong Kong for a period of two years.
The stay can be twice extended for a period of two years if the applicant provides proof to the satisfaction of the Immigration Department about continued fulfillment of eligibility criteria and maintenance of the portfolio.
Upon completion of minimum seven years of continuous ordinary residence in Hong Kong, the applicant and his/her dependents can apply for right of abode.
Upon breach of any part of the Undertaking submitted by the applicant, the applicant will be allowed to stay for two months or the remaining period of stay whichever is shorter.
