Representatives from the European Union recently met in Riga, Latvia, to decide on future EU visa policy. The summit ended with an agreement allowing an additional 19 countries to join the EU visa-free list as of July 1, 2015. The countries were already officially approved late last year, but received confirmation at the summit.
The 19 Countries to Gain Visa-Free Access to the EU are Colombia, Peru, Dominica, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, UAE, Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Palau, Micronesia, Samoa, Solomon Islands, East Timor, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Citizens of 19 Countries to Gain Visa-Free Access to the EU Starting July 1, 2015
With respect to Ukraine, the country was denied visa-free access to the EU, despite European support for Ukraine in its conflict against Russia.
Of the 19 countries approved, only Grenada and Dominica offer citizenship by investment programs for a low six-figure investment in the country in exchange for citizenship and a passport. Colombia and Peru allow foreign legal residents to apply for citizenship in 2 to 5 years.
