Change to UK’s Non-Domicile Rules Would Lead to Wealthy Foreigners Leaving

The UK’s Labour party has promised to reform non-domicile tax rules should it win the upcoming election, a move that experts warn would lead to wealthy foreign residents to re-think their stay in the country. UK’s Current “non-dom” rules exempt foreign offshore earnings from tax, though an annual charge is levied on long-term residents wishing to exempt their non-UK income from taxation.
