Australian Bar Association Warns Against New Citizenship Revocation Rules

The Australian Bar Association (ABA) and several legal groups have warned the Australian government that the latest anti-terror bill is unconstitutional due to the complete secrecy with which it allows for the revocation of the citizenship of dual nationals who are thought to have engaged in terrorism. The ABA is calling for the accused to be treated in line with Australian values and granted a presumption of innocence, a right to present a defense, and a fair trial.
