120\n<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>PEI issued a total of 1,446 invites during 2018, the first year it operated an Expression of Interest system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of these, 1,240 went to Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, with the remaining 206 going to Business Impact candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest draw took place on October 18, 2018, when 297 candidates were invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prince Edward Island Express Entry Stream<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>PEI\u2019s Express Entry category operates by considering candidates already in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/express-entry-immigration-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">federal Express Entry Pool<\/a>&nbsp;for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such a nomination adds 600 points to a candidate\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/comprehensive-ranking-system-crs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Comprehensive Ranking System<\/a>&nbsp;(CRS) score and effectively guarantees an&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/invitations-apply-permanent-residence-itas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Invitation to Apply<\/a>&nbsp;(ITA) for Canadian immigration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PEI Express Entry Category features two pathways to Canadian permanent residence, one for candidates with a job offer and one for those without.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prince Edward Island Labour Impact Category<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1) Skilled Worker Stream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This employer driven stream allows skilled workers with an employment offer in PEI to be nominated for Canadian Permanent residence if they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A full time employment offer from a Prince Edward Island business in an occupation classified as skill level \u201c0\u201d, \u201cA\u201d or \u201cB\u201d of the National Occupational Classification (NOC);<\/li><li>Completion of a post-secondary education, with a minimum of 14 years of formal education;<\/li><li>Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/li><li>At least 2 years of full time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/li><li>Sufficient proficiency in English or French to occupy the employment offered;<\/li><li>Sufficient settlement funds;<\/li><li>Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2) Critical Worker Stream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This category is designed to resolve labour shortages and is open to foreign workers already in PEI with employment in specific critical demand occupations. The primary criteria for nomination are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>A full time offer of employment from a Prince Edward Island business in one of the following occupations:<ul><li>Truck driver;<\/li><li>Customer service representative;<\/li><li>Labourer;<\/li><li>Food &amp; beverage server;<\/li><li>Housekeeping attendant.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>6 months of work experience with the Prince Edward Island business offering employment;<\/li><li>Current valid Canadian work permit;<\/li><li>High school diploma and minimum of 12 years of formal education;<\/li><li>Between 21 and 55 years of age;<\/li><li>At least 2 years of full-time work experience in the past 5 years;<\/li><li>Demonstrate basic proficiency in English or French language;<\/li><li>Sufficient settlement funds;<\/li><li>Demonstrated intention to settle in Prince Edward Island.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prince Edward Island Business Impact Category<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Work Permit Stream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals applying under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/prince-edward-island-work-permit-business-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">P.E.I. Work Permit Stream<\/a>&nbsp;must obtain a Canadian work permit and work for a P.E.I. business for a certain amount of time as designated in a Performance Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the Performance Agreement is fulfilled, the applicant must make a minimum $150,000 investment in the business and commit to managing the business on a daily basis from within P.E.I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, Prince Edward Island operated direct permanent residence business streams, but these were closed in September 2018 over immigration fraud concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new draw through the Prince Edward Island Expression of Interest system saw 122 invites issued, including 13 through the Business Impact stream.
