Prince Edward Island has invited a new batch of Business Impact candidates in its latest Expression of Interest draw.<\/p>\n
The November 15 draw saw 176 invited issued through the skilled worker and business immigration<\/a> streams.<\/p>\n It is the second largest draw since the P.E.I. Expression of Interest system began.<\/p>\n Read More<\/b><\/p>\n Survey Puts Canada Among World\u2019s Best Countries For Expats<\/a> The draw was dominated by Labour Impact and Express Entry candidates, with 147 of the invites going to candidates through the two streams.<\/p>\n The remaining 29 invitations were issued through the Business Impact Work Permit stream. Candidates needed to score 130 points to qualify.<\/p>\n This was the second P.E.I. draw since the province closed its Business Impact streams for 100% Ownership and Partial Ownership, which offer a direct path to permanent residence.<\/p>\n Under the Work Permit stream, candidates must establish their business in the province before being nominated for permanent residence.<\/p>\n Prince Edward Island has now conducted nine immigration draws since the start of 2018.<\/p>\n The province has invited a total of 1,175 skilled worker candidates, and 197 under the Business Impact stream.<\/p>\n The lowest minimum points score so far for Business Impact candidates is 117.<\/p>\n P.E.I.\u2019s Express Entry category operates by considering candidates already in the Express Entry Pool for a provincial nomination.<\/p>\n Such a nomination adds 600 points to a candidate\u2019s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and effectively guarantees an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian immigration.<\/p>\n
