The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Timothy Harris, has committed to implement new measures that will ease concerns about the country’s citizen by investment (CBI) program. The move comes as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and several other governments have raised doubts about the integrity of the CBI.<\/p>\n

Indicating that close relations with these countries was one of the key selling points of the CBI, Prime Minister Harris stated that St Kitts and Nevis will work to address their concerns and ensure that the CBI meets the highest international standards.<\/p>\n

“At this time relations with the US and Canada are the two key foreign policy objectives, recalibrating relations with them is important to the maintenance of the CBI program. We continue to do business in the Citizenship by Investment program. We want legitimate business and we are working diligently to restore the prestige of our CBI as the oldest and best in the world,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister further emphasized his backing of the CBI program by stating that he has met with many service providers and has inspected several projects being financed through the CBI program.<\/p>\n
