The program aims to recruit entrepreneurs and link them with private sector businesses in Canada.\u00a0 The goal is to help establish businesses that have the potential to scale internationally.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_tta_accordion active_section=&#8221;0&#8243;][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Quebec&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1495661330284-be1f93a9-098a&#8221;][vc_column_text]<b>Quebec Immigrant Investor Program<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/quebec-immigrant-investor-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Quebec Immigrant\u00a0Investor\u00a0Program<\/a>\u00a0is passive in nature, meaning that individuals selected under its auspices are not required to establish or actively manage a business in the province.<\/p>\n<p>Rather, the program requires an investment of $1.2 million into a prescribed (government guaranteed) investment. Applicants must have the intention of settling in the French-speaking province of Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants are issued a selection certificate from Quebec\u00a0for Canada immigration, which allows them to obtain Canadian permanent residence following health and criminality examinations by federal immigration authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The primary requirements are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The legally-acquired personal net worth\u00a0of $2 million.<\/li>\n<li>Two years of suitable management or business experience\u00a0within the five years preceding the application.<\/li>\n<li>Investment\u00a0of $1.2 million into a passive government guaranteed investment for a period of five years bearing no interest;<\/li>\n<li>Settle in the province of Quebec.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quebec Immigrant Entrepreneur Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>The Quebec Immigrant Entrepreneur Program aims to recruit individuals who have the skills and experience to operate a business in the province. The conditions to apply are different depending on the chosen stream.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Stream 1<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>This stream consists in managing a business in Quebec that the candidate created alone or with other partners (of which only 3 can be foreign nationals), with support from a business accelerator, a business incubator or a university entrepreneurship centre.<\/div>\n<p><strong>Stream 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To apply under this stream, the entrepreneur must control at least 25% of the shares of a new enterprise, or at least 51% of an acquired enterprise, which must have a value equivalent or higher than the funds needed to start the business project.<\/p>\n<p>The candidate must prove that they have legally acquired a net worth of $900,000, alone or with their spouse if applicable.<\/p>\n<div>Under both streams, successful candidates must obtain the threshold score in the selection grid, which features criteria such as: age, education, language abilities, stays or family in Quebec, financial autonomy.<\/div>\n<div>All candidates must submit their business project under the form of a business plan.<\/div>\n<div>Every year, the government accepts a limited number of applications in the entrepreneur category.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Quebec Self-Employed Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>To qualify under the Quebec Self-Employed Program, applicants must meet the following conditions that differentiates them from the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Have two years of applicable experience in the profession they intent to exercise in Quebec.<\/li>\n<li>Possess a personal net worth of $100,000.<\/li>\n<li>Have sufficient settlement funds to support themselves and their family.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a start-up deposit of at least $50,000 if the self-employed candidate is based in the metropolitan area of Montreal, and $25,000 if the candidate is located outside of Montreal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Like skilled workers, a self-employed applicant is assessed on several selection factors and must obtain sufficient points in order to qualify to apply.<\/div>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;British Columbia&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1495661386906-11cbd507-92a3&#8243;][vc_column_text]British Columbia operates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/british-columbia-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">three business streams<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entrepreneur Immigration<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Regional Pilot<\/li>\n<li>Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Strategic Projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Entrepreneur Immigration<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish an eligible new business or purchase and improve an existing business in B.C.<\/li>\n<li>Investment of minimum $200,000 in the new or existing business.<\/li>\n<li>Create at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident<\/li>\n<li>Net worth of minimum $600,000.<\/li>\n<li>Business and\/or management experience.<\/li>\n<li>Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4 In English or French in each of the four competencies: listening, speaking, reading and writing, BY THE TIME OF NOMINATION.<\/li>\n<li>Have, or be eligible for, legal immigration status in Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Have been lawfully admitted in the country where you currently reside.<\/li>\n<li>Pay a $300 registration fee, $3,500 application fee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Process<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>1) Registration<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Complete an online registration including a short business concept and pay non-refundable fee of $300. Candidates are scored on the information they provide and are place in a pool for six months or 180 days, or until they receive an invitation.<\/p>\n<p><b>2) Invitation<\/b><\/p>\n<p>British Columbia carries out regular draws, on average one each month for the Entrepreneur stream. Candidates who are invited to apply have four months to submit a complete application. The score takes into account English language ability, age and Canadian work experience. Candidates can improve their score while in the pool, including by submitting a new business concept.<\/p>\n<p><b>3) Net Worth Review<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates receiving an invitation to apply will have their net worth reviewed by a qualified supplier, who is a professional chartered accountant. The review includes the amount and source of funds and supporting documents. The candidate is responsible for all costs.<\/p>\n<p><b>4) Application<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates have four months, or 120 days, to submit an application once an invitation is received. Candidates may be required to attend an interview. Approved applicants must sign a performance agreement with B.C. They then have 20 months, or 610 days to implement their business proposal.<\/p>\n<p><b>5) Building the Business<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates get a letter of support from B.C. to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for a two-year work permit. Candidates and their dependents must arrive in B.C. with a valid work permit within 12 months, or 365 days, of receiving a letter of confirmation. The 20 months to implement the business starts when the candidate lands. At the end of the period, candidates must submit a final report to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.<\/p>\n<p><b>6) Nomination for Permanent Residence<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates who meet the terms of their performance agreement are nominated for Canadian permanent residence by B.C.<\/p>\n<p>Dependents (if applicable) will also receive nominations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><b>B.C. Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Regional Pilot<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>The British Columbia Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Regional Pilot aims to attract entrepreneurs to rural parts of the province.<\/p>\n<p>It was initially opened in 2019 as a two-year pilot, but has since been extended until 2024.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Regional Pilot is only for entrepreneurs wishing to start a new business. Those wishing to purchase an existing business should consider B.S.\u2019s main Entrepreneur Immigration stream.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key Features<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1) Community Involvement<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Participation communities are actively involved in attracting the foreign entrepreneur, and helping them settle after arrival.<\/p>\n<p><b>2) BC PNP Referrals<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Communities can refer foreign entrepreneurs to the BC PNP. The candidates must have visited the community and have a business proposal aligned with its economic priorities.<\/p>\n<p><b>3) Community Concierge<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Participating communities have access to the services of a dedicated BC PNP Community Concierge.<\/p>\n<p><b>4) Invitations and Prioritization<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Referred candidates register is a separate BC PNP pool. Monthly invitations are issued to the best scoring candidates. Those invited received priority processing.<\/p>\n<p><b>Community Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Population of less than 75,000.<\/li>\n<li>Located beyond 30km from a municipality of more than 75,000 population.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated capacity to support foreign entrepreneurs with network of settlement and business support agencies.<\/li>\n<li>Immigration and pilot-specific training must be completed by community representatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Candidate Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Desire to start a business and settle in a B.C. regional community.<\/li>\n<li>Complete an exploratory visit.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of $100,000 in eligible business investments.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum personal net worth of $300,000.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 51 per cent ownership.<\/li>\n<li>Canadian Language Benchmark Level 4 In English or French in each of the four competencies: listening, speaking, reading and writing.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of one new job created.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>B.C. Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Strategic Projects<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The B.C. Entrepreneur Immigration \u2013 Strategic Projects stream assists foreign-controlled companies establishing an eligible business in B.C. with the timely entry of foreign key managerial, professional or technical staff who intend to become permanent residents of Canada and settle in B.C.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Company Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a minimum equity investment of $500,000 to establish or purchase and expand an eligible business in B.C.<\/li>\n<li>Create at least three new jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents for each foreign key staff member proposed (to a maximum of five key staff).<\/li>\n<li>Establish or purchase and expand a company in B.C.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Application Process<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Exploratory visit<\/li>\n<li>Discuss proposal with BC PNP officials and register company\u2019s interest to apply<\/li>\n<li>Apply<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Alberta&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1603827925436-765e7cdc-212e&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Alberta Farm Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/alberta-immigration-self-employed-farmer-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">Farm Stream<\/span><\/a> is managed by the AAIP in close collaboration with the Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, and targets applicants with farm management skills and sufficient financial resources to invest in a farming business in Alberta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Alberta Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/alberta-immigration-foreign-graduate-start-up-visa-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream<\/span><\/a> is aimed at qualified foreign-educated graduates from outside Canada, who wish to receive permanent residence upon launching start-up enterprises in Alberta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Alberta Graduate Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/alberta-international-graduate-entrepreneur-immigration-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">Graduate Entrepreneur Stream<\/span><\/a> is aimed at international graduates from Alberta post-secondary institutions who want to establish or operate a business in the province.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Alberta Rural Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigration.ca\/alberta-immigration-rural-entrepreneur-stream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span class=\"s1\">Rural Entrepreneur Stream<\/span><\/a> is aimed at entrepreneurs who want to start a business or buy an existing business in a rural Alberta community<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Saskatchewan&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1495661442032-83ef516f-5e59&#8243;][vc_column_text]<b>Saskatchewan Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Saskatchewan Entrepreneur stream is a three-stage process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expression of interest;<\/li>\n<li>Invitation to submit application;<\/li>\n<li>Nomination;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Successful candidates initially come to Canada on a temporary work permit.<\/p>\n<p>They become eligible to apply for nomination after a minimum of 6 months spent establishing their business.<\/p>\n<p>The expression of interest must meet the following minimum entry requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum net worth of $500,000 legally acquired.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three years of entrepreneurial or relevant management experience.<\/li>\n<li>Investment of at least $300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon, or $200,000 is any other Saskatchewan area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates enter a pool where they receive a score. The top scoring candidates are invited to submit an application.<\/p>\n<p><b>Applications must include:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business Establishment Plan confirming figures in expression of interest, and including at least one third ownership of a company in Saskatchewan, unless investment is $1 million or higher.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to be active in day-to-day management of business.<\/li>\n<li>Creation of two or more jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents if the business is located in Regina or Saskatoon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Saskatchewan\u2019s International Graduate Entrepreneur stream aims to help international students graduating from eligible Saskatchewan institutions stay in the province as entrepreneurs, while also attracting business investment.<\/p>\n<p><b>International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: Process<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest to the SINP<\/p>\n<p><b>2. Invitation to Apply<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Candidates are scored based on their Expression of Interest, with the top scoring candidates issued Invitations to Apply.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants that pass the SINP&#8217;s assessment stage sign a Business Performance Agreement (BPA) based on their submitted Business Establishment Plan (BEP).<\/p>\n<p><b>3. Business Establishment<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>A<\/b>pproved candidates establish and actively operate their business while in Saskatchewan on a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit.<\/p>\n<p><b>4. Candidates are initially issued with a temporary work permit, and must have the intent and ability to start or purchase a business in Manitoba within two years of arrival. There are pathways for entrepreneurs and for farm investors.<\/p>\n<p><b>a) Entrepreneur Pathway<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For applicants wanting to open a business in Manitoba. Candidates are initially issued with a temporary work permit. They are nominated for permanent residence after establishing a business meeting the conditions of a Business Performance Agreement. Priority is given to candidates starting businesses outside Winnipeg.<\/p>\n<p><b>b) Farm Investor Pathway<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For applicants wanting to open and operate a farm in rural Manitoba. Candidates are initially issued with a temporary work permit. They are nominated for permanent residence after establishing a business meeting the conditions of a Business Performance Agreement.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Ontario&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1495661577295-f167d421-67f2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<b>Ontario Entrepreneur Stream<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Ontario Entrepreneur Stream is aimed at individuals from outside Canada who want to start a business or buy an already existing business in Ontario. Those who are approved for the program will be nominated for Canadian permanent residence. This must be done within 60 days of receiving the letter.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><b><\/b><b>Permanent Residence Application<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Successful candidates received a nomination from New Brunswick, for use in applying to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><b><\/b><b>Landing and Business Establishment In New Brunswick<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Within 30 days:<\/b> Report your landing to the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.<\/p>\n<p><b>With 60 days:<\/b> Participate in face-to-face meeting with official from Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.<\/p>\n<p><b>Within 180 days:<\/b> Participate in face-to-face progress report meeting with official from Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour.<\/p>\n<p><b>Within two years:<\/b> Within two years candidates must have established their business in line with the Business Performance Agreement. The period is non-extendable.
